About the Gite

Laplechade is set in a secluded valley teeming with wildlife. The house has recently been sympathetically and lovingly restored and modernised to provide a comfortable holiday home while retaining its rustic charm, including its ancient exposed beams and the large open fireplace in the living room.

Laplechade front view

The house has oil-fired central heating as well as its open log fire.

There is a 10 metre pool for your sole use. The fully-fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, large fridge freezer and gas hob and oven. The equipment in the kitchen also includes a microwave, a food processor, a toaster and a full range of utensils. A washing machine, iron and ironing board are provided in the utility room.

The house has two double bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom and separate WC) and a third large bedroom, divided by trellis work, with three single beds. There is also a very comfortable double sofa bed in the large living room. A modern shower room and second loo have been added recently. A cot and additional folding beds can be provided, together with a high chair and toddlers' paddling pool on request. There is also a CD/tape player and telephone for local and incoming calls. Board games, puzzles and a large selection of books - including local guide books and maps - available.

Laplechade Pool

Overlooking the pool - and the farmland and woods in the valley - the covered terrace faces north east so that breakfast can be taken outdoors in the first rays of the morning sun, while during the heat of the day, it provides a cool shady haven.

Laplechade is reached down a little-used country lane and is a safe environment for children away from traffic. Beside the swimming pool, the garden has a barbecue area and a sun-drenched lawn.

The restful view across the valley to the village of Montgaillard with its church spire instils a feeling of peace and contentment.
